Putting the new bike together

Things are coming along real well with the new bike.  I still have to get the heated grips, the thermometer, the GPS, the chargers, and the windshield installed, but it is starting to look like a bike I can ride.

Now that I have the whole “what am I going to ride” thing worked out it is time to start thinking about where I am going to ride next year!

There are a couple of destinations that were on the list last year that I did not make, so I am putting them on the list once again this year.  I never did infiltrate the Mt. Weather top secret gubment facility last year so I am putting that high on the list for next year.

I never did make it to Burkes Garden, so I want to try again next year, but this time I would like to actually make it there.

Other than that, I made it to all the places I had on the list for last year.

I have a few great ideas for next year.  The big one is the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.  I don’t want to miss this one!  Practice will be on September 12, Qualifying will be September 13, and the race is September 14.  That is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  I plan on getting there Thursday and heading home on Monday. We are so lucky to be getting MotoGP so close to home.

I am also thinking about a trip to Maine.  Probably a week long trip and I am thinking about returning home through Canada and then down through Michigan, but I really have not thought it out all that much yet.

Of course, there are going to be plenty of trips to Deals Gap.  I’m not even going to schedule the first one.  I am just going to watch the weather and the very first weekend the weather is good enough I think I can survive the trip I am going to go for it.  I need to get some Dragon stickers on the bike.  I’ll also probably go over Labor Day weekend.

Next year I am planning on doing a lot more camping on the bike.  The last successful trip I had on the old bike was a camping trip and it was really fun.  I am kind of thinking about taking a week and trying to stay all every single motorcycle campground in the Blue Ridge area.

I need ideas for places to go, so send me some mail if you find something interesting.  You know I really do like the quirky things the best, so the more quirky the better.
