Never trade the thrills of living for the security of existence
What a day of weather we have had today. Some of us headed to Maryville to go to Bread of Heaven. We lucked out and stayed mostly dry the whole time. We returned to the Gap about 5 minutes before a serious rain hit, and it continued raining all day.
We had a cookout and as I write this we are sitting in the pavilion and it is dumping rain at 11:00 PM.
Time is beginning to run out on our little adventure and I am sure hoping the weather improves over the next couple of days.
I warned Brad that he should get the septic system pumped because I would arrive Saturday and I would be spending the week moving pancakes from the kitchen to the septic system.
I went to get my first pancakes of the year and was shocked when I got them. I got two tiny pancakes. I mean these things were small. I imagine the look of shock and horror must have been pretty funny because Brad came over to the table with a big grin. He said "I cant afford to keep getting this septic system pumped so we are reducing the size of your pancakes"
Thank God it was just a prank and Ben came over with a plate of full size cakes. I told him pancakes were nothing to fool with and then he ripped off a piece and ate it! Cathy did well by getting a picture of this!
The pancakes were delicious as always. There are some new menu items that I will be posting up soon!
Friday morning we met up with Janice, Johnny, and Bob. We were all pretty fired up about going to the Gap and the weather was perfect and gasoline was cheap!
The ride was really not a lot of fun. We ran into heavy traffic in every city we went through and that made it very hard to make good time.
Eventually we did make it to our motel in Richmond, KY. Bob got a surprise in his room. There was a collection of porn in his room. Johnny had crusties on his bedspread. My room came with none of these bonuses.
We did end up getting a great all you can eat BBQ dinner Friday night.
