I have updated the events calendar. It is almost complete now, there are a few things missing but as I find out the dates I will be adding them to the calendar. The first big ride of the year is going to be to Deals Gap on May 18. We will be staying down there the nights of the 18, 19, and 20. This is Thursday through Sunday. It looks like we will be staying at the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge. We are reserving the bunkhouse. Anyone who wants to come along for this ride should get in touch with me because we probably have one bed that is not taken in the bunkhouse. We have put together a little list of rules of the road. Mostly it is common sense, but it does give an overview on how we like to ride so someone new to the group will know what to expect on a ride. The menu bar on the right hand side of the page has a link to this information, or you can click here. Once the weather turns warm we will be taking a Saturday ride to a place in Pennsylvania that serves the worlds largest hamburger. It looks like a fun place and it should be a nice ride. Here is a link on CNN who did a story about this place, and here is a link to Dennys Beer Barrel Pub. As always, we are looking for places to ride, so email me with any ideas you may have.
Jeff Smith runs a web site similar to ours for riding in West Virginia, www.westvirginiasporttouring.com. They seem like a great bunch of guys and he has invited us to attend one of their rides this summer, so I am looking forward to them showing us some of the great roads in West Virginia.
Joe has set up a web site for their run to Deals Gap this spring and here is a link to it. It is a really well done site and you should find a lot of useful information on it, you may even want to attend this event.
Skidplate is organizing a poker run for this summer to benefit Trips Ahoy. She is president of this non-profit corporation that provides recreational opportunities for people with mental retardation or developmental disabilities. Anybody who wants to volunteer their time or skills to this event should contact skidplate@ridewithtank.com. If you have a relationship with any motorcycle related business they are looking for donations to be given as door prizes to those who attend the event.
